Graceland University Shaw Center
Architect: Gould Evans
The Shaw Center houses multiple distinct performance venues. Carol Hall, a 112 seat concert hall features superb acoustical design and outstanding sightlines for viewing. All theatrical design choices were made to enhance this live recording venue. Peerbolte designed a motorized rigging and lighting system featuring LED lighting to enhance recitals and staged performances. The black box theatre provides an intimate venue for various types of theatrical productions. It features a catwalk, overhead lighting grid, and a networked lighting system.
The JR Theatre features an overhead walking tension grid for the safe hanging and focusing of lighting and scenery. This flexible space provides the facility with two different performance opportunities. Peerbolte Creative provided design and specifications for the tension grid, lighting, seating and staging.
